1. Verified Membership Only

• Only verified transplant teens, their parents/guardians, and approved mentors or healthcare professionals can join the app.

• Verification requires confirmation through a parent or hospital partner before any teen is granted access.

2. Parental Oversight

• Parents/guardians receive onboarding information outlining what their teen will experience in the app.

3. No Medical Advice or Treatment in App

• The app does not provide medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.

• All content focuses on education, peer support, and personal growth—not medical management.

4. Moderated Community Spaces

• Every community space (chat, post, comment) is actively monitored by trained moderators who understand transplant sensitivities.

• AI-based content filters flag concerning language (e.g., bullying, self-harm, or medical misinformation).

• Teens who violate guidelines are privately coached first, and if needed, suspended or removed.

5. Safe Communication Policies

• Direct messaging between teens follows safety protocols (e.g., monitored or limited to approved interactions).

• No sharing of personal addresses, phone numbers, or identifying hospital information is allowed.

6. HIPAA-Compliant Handling of Information

• The app does not collect or store any protected health information (PHI).

• Any data collected (like age or interests) is securely encrypted and stored in compliance with HIPAA and COPPA (Children’s Online Privacy Protection Act).

7. Emergency & Mental Health Safeguards

• Moderators are trained in trauma-informed response and escalation procedures.

8. Positive Digital Citizenship Training

• Teens complete a Digital Safety Orientation before joining group discussions.

• They learn how to protect their privacy, report issues, and communicate respectfully.

9. Transparent Terms of Use

• All safety policies, community rules, and moderation procedures are clearly outlined and available for both parents and hospital partners.
